forever young

Thursday was brunch at Le Pain on Melrose, I got the ham and cheese omelet and it was the best I've ever had! We shopped a little more and ran errands. No celebrity sightings of course :( I came to the conclusion that you have to stop looking for them in order t
o see one... That night we went to the Universal City Walk for dinner. It was a fun place with cool shops and restaurants.
We decided on Mexican but were disappointed to find out the West coast does not have queso dip!! Its true! When I asked the waiter said, "Um no what are you from Texas?!" "Um no Tennessee actually", I replied. Sheesh! Well after our Mexican dinner (with no cheese dip and chips) we saw Toy Story 3. It definitely lived up to the 1st two movies! I just love
Pixar :)
The next day it was to Santa Monica for the day to hit the beach. We thought we were going to have the entire day to spend under the sun since we left her apartment by noon. It took us almost 2 hours to get to the beach because their was so much traffic! (note: leave earlier than anticipated always! you will hit traffic. always!) Once we finally got their we both took snoozesand got a little sun. We had lunch at The Lobster and headed back towards LA.

Hot LA dining spot, Ketchup, is where we had dinner then headed to Voyuer. This is where Lindsay Lohan was spotted the night before we were there punching a waitress. Of course she wasn't back the next night haha. We had the best time though!!

reunion time :)

Wednesday was pool day! We drove about 40 minutes away from LA to go to a pool party for Daryl's 19th birthday. Daryl was my best friend from 4th grade and she moved to california with her family recently. Now her and Samantha are friends. Such a small world! My friend Tyler was there too from Franklin.

"it is one of the blessings of old friends, that you can afford to be stupid with them."

laugh every day

It was great to see them both. So after a fun day at the pool me and Samantha were exhausted from the sun so we decided to stay in with sushi and a movie...and get our exercise in with a night run :)

melrose, robertson, and rodeo!

Shopping day! Tuesday was all about good shopping. Although I was more there for the experience because most of these shops are wayy to expensive (like $300 dollars for a shirt or 1 pair of underwear for $25 expensive...). We had lunch at the famous Ivy. I ordered a freshly made gormet pizza that was amazing and we toasted with some strawberry champagne.

I got to go in stores I have never been to like Fred Segal, Kitson, and many others. Then we ended the day on Rodeo (which only has valet for parking choices). Rodeo has the nicest stores such as Versace, Tiffanys, and Gucci. And though the only thing I purchased on Rodeo was a vanilla latte from The Coffee Bean it was a fabulous day.

venice beach day

The next day it was to Venice beach. It was overcast so our plan to layout didn't quite workout but we still had a great time. We walked all down Venice beach and looked through all the street vendors cool and wierd stuff. It's just like the movies yall! There was so many bikers and free spirits there. I found an awesome picture Hollywood collage for my room and got baby Savanna an organic baby shirt with a peace sign on it! So cute. Then we had lunch on the beach and made the long journey back to the car.

That night was the 1st night we went out (yeah on a monday haha) and we ended up at Les Deux which was pretty neat and apparently where alot of episodes of The Hills were filmed. No celebrity spottings though :( Maybe tommorow when we are on Melrose and Rodeo... fingers crossed!

dreams are on the west coast

travel the world

This summer I made my first trip to the west coast and traveled to Los Angeles California for 8days. I went to visit and stay with Samantha and we had a blast. The 1st night I arrived she took me to the Electric Daisy Carnival which was my 1st music festival and I was in for a culture shock.

.

We did end up having a great time but the next day was all about Hollywood so I was even more excited to actually see in person the city I had only dreamt of visiting. First was lunch in the middle of Hollywood at California Pizza Kitchen, which is actually better in California, then we walked around and saw all the stars and handprints which was very cool.

Next on the agenda was a Hollywood tour bus. I was like a kid in a candy store, I was so excited to see the city from an overcrowded cheesy bus tour. Though are tour guide was terribly annoying, (he laughed at his own jokes into the microphone every second) I thoroughly enjoyed viewing all the studios, theatres, Hollywood sign, and landmarks.

That night we decided to go to the Grove which is the cutest little outdoor area complete with a farmer's market, boutiques, restraunts, and a movie theater. We ate on the outside patio at The Farm which was delicious (the sweet potato fries are a must!) then went and saw Grown Ups at the theater. It was a great relaxing ending for a perfect day.

where to begin...

I have been inspired by a number of things or better yet, people, to begin my very own blog. I like to believe it was a combination of my crazy but wise journalism professor, one of my best friends Samantha (who has her own blog and it is freaking AWESOME), Alex who encouraged me to begin writing more, and finally myself. For I am the one who is staying up late and actually creating this blog right? So here begins the documentation of my newest memories, thoughts, reviews, and take on this amazing journey we call life.
